Less than one month to go: Help shape the SBTi Corporate Net-Zero Standard Version 2

7th May 2025

There’s now only a few weeks left to submit your feedback on our draft Corporate Net-Zero Standard V2 before the survey closes on June 1. We’ve released helpful resources ranging from introductory, high-level overviews that provide the essential information to take part, to deep-dive technical materials on the proposals. Please see these resources below. Our aim is to empower you to provide informed feedback that will ensure the final standard is robust and practical.

We’re also pleased to share that we’ve selected participants for five expert working groups (EWGs) to support the revision of the standard. The EWGs bring together subject-matter experts from across business, civil society and academia to provide in-depth input on key topics, focusing on five key themes that are critical to businesses setting effective, practical and ambitious targets. The themes are:

We thank all those who applied to be part of the groups. You can view the EWG terms of reference here.

Consultation survey

Once you’ve reviewed the draft standard alongside the supporting and explanatory materials, submit your feedback using our consultation survey. Stakeholders are welcome to complete the entire survey or respond to individual questions – and while we welcome all feedback, we’re especially interested in your input on:

  • Criteria based on company categorization
  • Scope 1 target-setting
  • Identification of relevant emissions sources in the value chain (scope 3)
  • Alignment targets
  • The proposed approaches for carbon removals between 2030 and the net-zero year
  • Claims related to conformity assessment throughout the validation model cycles
  • Clarity, credibility and completeness

We’re ready to iterate on this draft – to simplify or refine to make the standard more effective. The feedback we gather from consultations and our expert working groups will inform changes ahead of its final approval. We encourage everyone to participate.
